CreationPlex is a family office that makes investments across a spectrum of asset classes, primarily in the US and in India. We operate a long-short hedge fund operation primarily focused on US securities, combining both value investing in sectors such as financials and industrials, and growth equity targeted mostly at the technology sector. In India, however, the focus has been private investments in energy and in technology. The family office was established in 2010 with a very simple objective: find the best investment opportunities in the world with special emphasis on the US and India, and manage these investments to maximize returns.
Generate returns through multi-stage investing
In the US, we have invested mostly in publicly traded securities across all sectors: technology, financial services, industrials, and commodities. The predominant investment themes in the US has been value investing and technology growth investing. The CreationPlex team identifies high quality investment assets that are mis-priced due to market dislocations and irrational expectations. Mis-pricing of assets can occur in the underlying securities or in their derivative instruments. We have generated over 48% IRR in the past 3 years investing in publicly traded securities in the US. More recently, this successful investment paradigm has broadened in geography taking advantage of similar situations in Europe and select Asian and Latin American countries.
Value and Growth Investing in the US
In India, our investment philosophy is quite different and much more long term focused. We have invested in early stage companies in order to create exciting new companies growth companies across various sectors. Investments include technology powered consumer services, energy, and healthcare. CreationPlex provides early stage capital and advice to a few select companies and helps them grow through various stages and aspects including team building, fundraising, distribution, focus on profitability, and other aspects of execution.
